The Stockbridge Area Genealogical/Historical Society will welcome guest speaker George Wieland to present and discuss his book, Celtic Germans: the Rise and Fall of Ann Arbor’s Swabians at its quarterly meeting on April 26, 2016.
A social psychologist with the University of Michigan, Dr. Wieland has studied the lasting effects of Swabian German immigrants on the community of Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. Two Stockbridge families are highlighted as part of the book: the Hannewalds and the Realys, and will be discussed during his presentation.
The meeting will be held in the lower level of the Stockbridge Township Hall on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Presentation begins at 7 p.m. with refreshments served prior to the meeting at 6:30. The public is invited to attend!
